I don't think the extra $$ is worth it. Actually, the 3000+ with it's 10.5x multiplier "should" be able to hit a higher FSB - if your board & RAM are up to it

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

The 2500+ Barton is simply a 3200+ Barton with a FSB of 333MHz instead of 400MHz. Get a 2500+ Barton and change the FSB to 400MHz and you got a 3200+ Barton at the 2500+ Barton price.

Thanks, do you know how much of a gain it is to go from a xp2400 tbred 133fsb with pc2100 to the 3000+ 400fsb with pc3200?

Were the big difference is the Barton has 512KB of L2 cache. The tbred only has 256KB of L2 cache. This is makes games faster and about anything else. Also with the faster FSB all you’re components access the CPU faster, especially the ram.
