Comment: I recently upgraded from an XP 1800+ to an XP 2100+ because my XP 1800+ stopped working, no I didn't melt it or overclock it or abuse it in any way. It just flat out stopped working. Yesterday I got my new XP 2100+ OEM and it has completly frozen twice so far, past the point of ctrl-alt-del... everything just freezes (kinda like I am using Mac os 9) and its not because its overheating. Heres what else I have: Mobo: Shuttle AK31A Memory: 512 ddr2100 (2 256 chips both micron) Video: 3dfx Voodoo 3 PCI: Kingston 10/100 network card and a random scsi card HD's: 20gb 7200 rpm maxtor and 10gb 5400 rpm seagate and some cd drives and floppy, zip, superdrive etc. If there is anything above that anyone has any bad expierence with let me know because I really dont think its the processor that is making my computer freeze up. Should I hurry up and use the 30 day warrenty on the processor just to be on the safe side? Could it be the powersupply (its kinda crappy, a no name brand that came with the case 400w) Any ideas at all? And NO I am not overclocking. Also... what temp. is normal for my processor?

Reply: (edit)check the temp of that video card, V3's get really hot (you'll have to touch oit but be careful, if it is overheating, it'll burn the hell out of you). Wjat OS are you using? If an NT kernel, have you looked in event viewer?
