Hey all i have bought a new system its an Amd XP 2000+ with a Gigabyte GA-7VA.Alright now i tried to ovrclock it from the bios i took the bus speed to 140 Mhz it showed as 2100 and 1750 Mhz then i pushed a bit further and took it to 145 its showed as 2200 but during bootup i got a blue screen error so put the bus back at 140 then i installed the easy tune 4 software that came with it and took it to 145 but it wouldnt change still there no matter what i do with that software nothing changes. So could please someone help coz i expected a bit more from this processor and i forgot the Temp when i oc it to 140 is around 44C and the RAM im using is 256 Mb DDR 2100

I haven't ever managed to have a stable system with over about 144MHz on a pally 2000.
The processor has very little headroom, so you're just gonna have to make do with you have got so far.

is your chip a thouruogh bred core .13microns or a paliminoe .18microns
is it the b revision core? my 2000 xp runs 2.083 ghz 166 x2 12.5 multiplier its t.b.core b revision m.b. is asus a7v333 768mb 333ddr temps usually stay in 50-55c try using an after market cooler much better for overclocking also try updating your bios most mb companys update regularly bug fixes cpu updates ect.just dont fry your new cpu its already fast enough for any game availible even doom3 will run on 2ghz

i have XP2000 with MSI K7T266 RU PRO2, and 256mb ram pc2100!
I just have to raise the FSB? donīt need to raise the vcore?
The board only support XP2100, canīt go any faster then that?Tanks
