I figured the prices would drop on the S939 A64 & X2 once the socket AM2 was released, but apparently that's not what's gonna happen. Only the Sempron will become cheaper....

Everyone now days must have an athlon64 x2, it's not common they jack up the price for that reason..

This is no lie. Look at the RTPE at anandtech.com. I've been pricing out a partial system upgrade, and not more than 10 minutes after I bought my AMD 64 3700, the price went up 20 bucks on 1 site. and if you look at the RTPE, you'll see all AMD processors are way up from last week, average of about 35 dollars up from just a few days ago! I ended up getting mine at chiefvalue since newegg went up on me right before I was going to buy.
