start with amd model number, remove the stupid + sign, divide by 1000, add p4 to the beginning.

I guess we won't have to worry about that for long, since intel is finally dumping it's CPU nomenclature.

The new hype will be my centrino vs your crappuccino and none of that clock speed jargon.

just to note:

Amd mobile cpu = the same cpu as the amd desktop but runs on lower vcore, overclocks better, works in both laptops and desktops

pentium M = a totally different cpu than p4 desktop, runs on laptop only, runs at lower vcore, is about 60% better than a p4 running at equal ghz

Centrino = Intel's name for a laptop which has the following three things: a Pentium M cpu, an Intel Chipset, Intel Wireless

asdfasdf,
Your handle or name does not seem to inspire much seriousness. If you really are interested in CPU comparions do a google search for "amd vs intel" or "athlon vs p4" or some search string like that.
Or do a search on this forum (look to the top right of this page).

At the end of the day intel or amd, either one matters little to most users. More about this on my site Click HERE

and johnoh, well said in response # 2.
I would like to borrow that one for my site :)

Good Luck and Happy Computing,

Kailas Shastry,

Great point. The dark yellow part of the initial post always points to the thoughtfulness or lack of thoughtfulness of the poster.
