I wanna know if an ASUS A8V DELUXE "Socket 939" is compatiable with DDR2 if not what is the highest speed of DDR does it support?

what does the manual say about the compatible memory....did you try the manufacturer's website...google does wonders

I belive that board does not support ddr2 but it does support Dual Channel Memory at 266/333/400 speeds.

It would most likley be better to have four 256 but the difference is not worth it, but i recommend using 2 512 sticks and not buying 1gb ones.
