Im overclocking my CPU (2.0 GHz) to 2.4 GHz..and when I run some higher end games such as Hitman Bloodmoney and Oblivion my whole game lags horribly even on what the game says is recommended for my system config. Please tell me what i can to make everything run more smoothly!

Did you set these below?

HTT: 3x
External clock: 240Mhz
Multiplier: 10x
CPU/RAM Ratio: 5:4
CPU Voltage: 1.5v???

Is your system stable? Does it hold upto 5-6 hours of dual prime95 torture test? Before you overclock, does those high end games you play lag or runs fine?

Dude,

Your CPU is the bottkeneck in your rig, you don't put a V10 in a mini expecting it to blow everything out of the waters.

Yea, that particular Sempron isn't one of the good ones, it only has 128k L2 cache. Your CPU will restrict your video performance somewhat, but you should still be getting acceptable framerates provided your settings aren't too high. Do you practice regular "housecleaning" for spyware, viruses, etc

Hey, check this out...TMP-Man posted this link in the gaming forum for a question about Oblivion. Your CPU isn't as good as the Celeron D 351 that's at the bottom in every test:

Put your Sempron up for sale, hopefully something that doesn't know any better snags it at decent price (ebay is choke full of folks like that)........LOL

If you've got a decent board with some overclock potential, get a 3200+ (754)Clawhmmer instead of the 3700+ & see how much you can squeeze out of it.
