Hi, i have overclocked my AMD Sempron 3100 to 2.142GHz(using 1.4volts) using a FSb of 238mhz and the ram clock at 195mhz.
When i try to go past a fsb of 245mhz -cpu @ 2.205ghz prime 95 shows a fatal error after a second of running it, is their any way of getting past 245MHZ fsb without getting an error(prime 95).
My motherboard is a
ASRock K8NF4G-SATA2 cpu voltage can be changed to a max of 1.45v

AMD Sempron 3100 1.8GHZ @ 2.12GHZ

Ledteck 6600 non gt @ Core 500 Memory 700

NCP DDR400 1GB Ram @ 225MHZ 2.5/6/2/3/T1

CPU freq = 250MHz
CPU multi = 9x
HTT multi = 4x
RAM freq = 166MHz (DDR333)
PCI-E = 100MHz
PCI = 33MHz
Spread Spectrum = disabled
Cool'n Quiet = disabled
RAM voltage = add 0.10v to default voltage
CPU voltage = oncrease as necessary to stabilize

This will put the CPU at 2.25GHz with RAM at 208MHz. HTT bus at 1000MHz.

Hi, thanks for the reply but those settings still gave an error with prime 95 after running it for a few seconds

You probably didn't raise the CPU voltage enough. However, if these are your RAM settings, "DDR400 1GB Ram @ 225MHZ 2.5/6/2/3/T1", that may be another possible cause of instability. Try 2.5-3-3-7-1T, with the speed at 166MHz (DDR333)...when you increase the CPU freq to 250MHz, the RAM speed will increase to 208MHz.

Sometimes the BIOS doesn't have the timings listed in the "normal" order, so you may wanna double check that this is how you set them:

CAS Latency = 2.5
RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD) = 3
Row precharge Time (tRP) = 3
Min RAS active time (tRAS) = 7

NOTE: tRAS has very little effect on performance, but raising it has a huge effect on the max speed your RAM can run at stably. 7 was found to be the optimal tRAS setting for the nForce4, 10 is best for the nForce3, & 11 is best for the nForce2.

Also, you do NOT have to run the RAM in sync with the CPU because there is no FSB to be in sync with!
