Have you scanned your pc for adware, spyware, trojans, and viruses as of late? If so and nothing comes up then follow the second step.

You may have a alot of startup programs running in the background that don't need to be automaticly started when windows loads.

go to start/run and type msconfig. In msconfig go to the startup tab. Look at the files under the "startup item" on the left hand side of the screen and go through each one of them to determine if you need those programs to run automaticly or not. If you are not sure what alot of the startup items are go here....

http://www.pcreview.co.uk/startup/

then type each startup item name in the search box and it will tell you what it is.

As for your slow broadband connection you may want reset your modem by turning off your broadband modem, wait for 10 seconds and turn it back on.
