I have a AMD K6-233 on an Epox board but it what go any higher than a 238 when i try to overclock it any help would be great

Don't know which epox board you are talking about. Maximum cpu speed depends on mobo. Super socket 7 mobos, generally go to 550 Mhz, while older ones are much less speedy. Get the model of your mobo, then go to epox.com and download the manual if you don't have the physical one. This will give you the data needed.

I have the manual but when you set it up to the speed for what it says in the book the monitor light just flashes

AMD k6's don't overclock very well at all.
You can try increaseing your core voltage a couple tenths, if your lucky you can get up to 266 Mhz.
You can get a K6 450 for about $30. If your board supports an 83 MHz bus and multiplyers up to 5, you can usually get 416 Mhz(5 x 83).

I agree with the above.

I’ve got a K6 250 clocked to 300 and a K6-II 300 clocked to 337 but changing the 300MHz CPU to 400MHz was a cheap and easy upgrade.

my board goes to a 5.5 and 112Mhz so it sould go fine
