I have a Amd k6-2 400 (running at 500) on a Fic va-503+. it has been overclocked for over 3months very stable (bought a new HS/CF just to be sure) well now i want to jump to 550 or 600 if possible but when i start playing with the volatge jumpers and such trying to bump it up i hear the begining stages of bootup but my monitor dosent turn on (or my video card dosent turn on) and it just stops like 3sec into it. so dose anyone know why or which jumpers i could move around to get her to boot. i have been to the fic website but not much help there so i was wondering if anyone has gottin this combo of cpu and mobo up to around 600mhz or so and if so what setting should i use thanks for you time

my psu is 250w
new HS/CF made for overclocking
Running very cool

I never had much luck getting past where you are now using a Tyan S1590 MOBO. Check out:

http://overclockers.cssftware.com/cpudb/Showamd.cfm

They list a top of 1100MHz (I’d like to see that!) and an average of 477MHz. I didn’t see your MOBO listed but I didn’t carefully review all 536 results.

My guess concerning the behavior you are seeing is that you a probably at or past the edge of the envelope. You might be able to do it with water cooling but for that kind of effort and expense, you might consider getting a more state of the art CPU/MOBO.

Good luck!

Forget get it. Only the K6+ line will offer. you more performance. Your mobo may need a new bios unpdate to run it , but TIGER DIRECT has the K62+ cheap...
