Stop doubling up on your posts! One was already deleted...go back to your original post in the hardware forum & read what I suggested.

The 3500+ Venice that you're asking about only has 512k L2 cache...either get an Opteron or an A64 San Diego

Assuming that 1.7/512 means 1.7Ghz pentium 4 and assume you have PC2100 (DDR266) RAM, how can you physically put in a S939 chip into a S423/S478? Assuming you have Athlon XP 1700+ which utltize Socket A (462), it is impossible to put it into a S939 system. You need to post what is your original system spec, what you want to do and how much you willing to spend on it...

For exmaple, if you currently have Athlon XP 1700+ and 512MB DDR400 memory and you want to upgrade your CPU. The best and cheapest choice would be buy an Athlon XP 2500+ and overclock to 3200+ if your motherboard support 200Mhz FSB...

"y ru guys going out of the world"

Because you appear to be clueless when it comes to hardware...case in point, "MSI smething socket 939". You don't even know what motherboard you have? You've posted at least 3 times about different CPUs but so far, I haven't seen a single question about RAM, video cards, or most importantly, the power supply.

This is too funny. You have absolutely NOT made it clear. This is what you have posted previously exactly.

For a "MSI smething 939" you will need a smething 939 processor. Does that help nail it down?

To answer you question, yes AMD is good...I have an AMD DX4-100 that runs just swell after 9 years.

What is a smething?
