ok this is gonna be my first amd i have 3 intel pc and i dicidet to build one amd ok this is the mother board i wonna get and do u think is good here is the info

i was thinking obout new amd that came out but some people say that xp2800+ is faster then amd3200+ is it true

that sounds a lot like the specs of an A7V8X, other than the stuff for the bios... I didn't know the 3200+ was out yet... I would guess the clock rate is lower than the 2800+ as that is the way AMB is going, they use a faster FSB (greater than 333) for the 3200+'s from what I've heard. 512 MB of ram is enuf, 2GB is useless, after 512 MB its really just bragging rights, and the extra did no more than take money you could use for other components out of your pocket...

I say at least 1 gig if you are into hardcore gaming like unreal 2003 and the KT 400 chipset on the new Gigabyte is pretty awsome. And yes the 3200+ is out but all of the OEMs have bought them all up. I wouldnt plan on getting one for a while. And the price. Well it is high. I would go for a 2200 or 2400. The best deal for the money at this point in time. In 6 months of course the 2800 - 3200+ will be affordable
