I have a Gateway Select K7-600 and I'm trying to figure out what that max I can upgrade my CPU too.

It isn't worth it. You can get a much better mobo/ cpu combo for 100 under dollars like a Sempron 3100+ with a motherboard or a Celeron D 2.93ghz with a motherboard for around 100 bucks.

Assuming that that's a Slot A Athlon, the max you could put in that board would be a 1.0GHz Athlon. Slot A of course.

You can always buy a new system Tigerdirect.com has a sempron 3100+ system special that is 284 bucks! hell of a deal, that system is selling like hot cakes.
