I just bought a upgrade for my computer
Amd Athlon 64 2800 cpu
Asus K8V-X m/b
1gb ddr400 rami put it together myself. when i go into my computer properties it says
AMD Athlon(tm 64 Processor 2800+
1.80Ghz, 1.00 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extensionis the Ghz right ? i thought it would be more
Also my bought a amd athlon 2800 cpu for my old m/b which i putting in my brother's computer. that m/b is a A7V333, i also put that together too, but i think also the Ghz is wrong it says 1.25Ghz, i've looked in bios to change cpu speed, selected manual, but it doesn't have 333 under the cpu frequency, only goes up 227/45, and cpu multiple is 12.5. If i change it to 224/45 and 12.5x would that work? whats the 45 for ?
Any help be grateful, leave message here or email me.

AMD CPUs are "performance rated"...2800+ is NOT the speed, it's the model number. The true speed is 1.8GHz, but it supposedly has the same performance of a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 - hence the 2800+ rating

The above answer was for the Athlon 64 part of your question...I forgot about the Athlon XP question.
The XP 2800+ is suppposed to run at 2083MHz (2.083GHz). The multiplier is locked at 12.5x & the FSB should be set at 166MHz. On the socket A system, the FSB is "double-pumped"...333FSB is the "effective" speed, but the actual setting should be 166MHz. You apparently have it set to 100MHz.
12.5 x 100MHz = 1250MHz (1.25GHz)
