I have a Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G and I am trying to overclock my CPU to 3.0Ghz. The problem I am having is disabling the Cool n Quite in my Bios. I have looked everywhere from manual to the system and cannot find were this is located (used CTRL F1 also). I have updated my Bios to F4 tried to update with latest version F13 but system would not boot. Is there another way of overclocking this cpu. I contacted Gigabyte and they want me to RMA it to them but this will cost me money since the warranty is over. Thanks in advance.

To go from 2.6GHz to 3.0GHz should be relatively easy, provided your board supports all the necessary settings.

- lower the CPU multi (CPU clock ratio) from 13x to 12x
- raise the CPU freq from 200MHz to 250MHz
- lower the HT bus from 1000MHz (5x) to 800MHz (4x)
- lock the PCI-e bus at 100MHz
- change the RAM setting from AUTO (or DDR800/400MHz) to DDR667/333MHz
- disable all Spread Spectrum settings
- you *may* have to increase the CPU voltage to stabilize the overclock
