Hi, Just upgraded my cpu to a athlon 2500 333 from a 2200. Now under sys properties in my computer it shows an unknown cpu at 1400 mhz In bios it gives me the option to set the fsb to 266. When I do this I get a blank screen and have to reset the CMOS. I have an AZZA kt 400 alh mobo. Do I need to upgrade the bios to recognize the new cpu? Any help would be cool. thx

The settings for my 2500+ without having it oc'ed are 166 X 11 which is 1826 mhz. putting the fsb up to 266 can damage it and it is way too high to jump up to. You can go up to 166 which is the normal speed for a 2500+

in the FSB you times it by two because the it is bidirectional so 266 would equal 533 mhz and that for you CPU would splatter....try 166 (333mhz) and go up by 1 increments until you run stable....if you want to overclock....the barton 2500 is an excellent overclocker as long as you take it easy adjusting the settings and have half decent RAM
