Comment:

I have had my proccesor over clocked to 2.565ghz according to CPU-Z. I can run games for hours with no problem, same with applications., I also ran prime 95 recently, and it did swell. Now i didn't touch the voltage becasue then its risky. But i was wondering if i could push the speed to 2.6 flat. Also, what type of performance compared to a upper class proccesor is this speed up to. Does it beat most upper ones or not?

You should be able to push it to an FX-57 without any problems if it's the true San Diego Core with E4 stepping and not the 3700+ Toledo based core with E6 stepping. This diff between the two uin overclock is a 100mhz diff. 2.8ghz on the True San Diego core and 2.7ghz on the Toledo based San Diego is the avg between the two.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ OC 2.7ghz
2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200
Nvidia 7900GT
SATA II 2x 300gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0+1
Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI

Well when i over clocked it I used N-TUNE, here are some of the info on it :

ht link: 1165 mhz
mem bus: 386
pci express bus: 2525, im not messing with this setting much

then theres the timings which i changed for stability, been fine so far:

row adress strobe 5
ras to cas access 4
memory bank switch 4

I beleive that I can push it up to 2.6, with these setting or would raising the above mem controll timings help? Keep in mind that voltage has not been changed, its still at ( 1.360 v )

Voltage for me I have not worried but if it means to get a slight edge ill be willing to try it. I have a really good cooler and under load, it reaches bout 40C, idle at 35C.
So how would I go about changing the voltage, are there any programs that allow it becasue if i have to do any open up the case work, ill be happy with what I have.

You didn't list your motherboard but is there a reason why you're overclocking using software instead of the BIOS?

You *should* be able to hit 2.75GHz (11 x 250MHz) with the right board, the right BIOS configuration, & a slight voltage increase.

I guess you could say the reason i dont use bios is because i dont know how too, honestly, but voltage changes are in bios
