Just bought a new computer with following spec's:
AMD XP 2800+ (2.25Ghz) With STD 80MM FANS
512DDR (PC3200)
256 GF GF5600 (DUAL DVI,TV IN&OUT)
80GB HDD Running Windows XP
Chenbro Case with Front,Back,Side Fans)Now i bought the PC That fits all processors with 80mm fans runnin ultra quiet mode with top performance.
I've got it all on an Asus A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard.
Now will the spec's i got perform well?, also whats the max overclock on the 2800+?
Any ideals the CPU is on 80mm heatsink and that runs at bout 50c.
Bit weary on that as i had a 750mhz on 30c.
I'd like it to keep quite a low temp still.
Any info on this is appreciated

I have an XP2700 running at 37c idle and 43c full load. Think about adding some case fans and make sure you have you HS/fan installed right. Did you use thermal grease?

The Heatsink and fan are 80mm goin upwards to about 90mm i would say..
There silent fans pretty much running at 6000rpm roughly
The case is fully taken to the max of coolin 2x 90mm front&back system fans and a side panel fan just above the processor making it 3c lower!
So if anyone has any ideal on the max overclock of the AMD 2800+ I'd appreciate any info on it.
Was told that an AMD 1700 overclocks to this 2800 so is that bigga jump possible with the 2800+?

"Was told that an AMD 1700 overclocks to this 2800 so is that bigga jump possible with the 2800+?"
No it isn't. CPUS made from a certain process (i.e., made at a certain time) will overclock to about the same raw ghz, regardless of their model number. So a 1700+ might hit 2.4ghz and a 2400+ might also hit 2.4ghz.

well your going to have to just try for all systems are different. ive had 2 identical systems and 1 would oc about 200mhz more. your thing that will stop u it looks like is temp. my primary system now is a xp2600 333 oced and running pc3000 under a full load 38 C. ive added a all copper heatsink and a oversized high rpm fan to get temps down. im going to try to go to pc 3200 and push it some more . i also just added a ac unit in my computer room and put my desk about 5 ft from it, so now i can push it further.

ive looked at some forums and ive found out that a barton 2800+ will go to about 2.4 ghz wich is quite good seeing that it normaly runs at 2.23ghz and thats on a asus a7n8x delux mobo and 512mb pc 3200 i also found out that there is a problem with the 13 and 5 multipliers! remember that performance gains are not only from process speed but fsb! and u need fast memory i.e 1ghz of pc3200, i have the same set up with pc 3200 1 ghz and water cooled with water chill kit cpu,vga and northbridge cooling still biulding it should finish in 2 days and i'll let u know how low the temp goes and how high i get the cpu clock and the FSB hope that helps a bit :)

The AMD Athlon XP 2800+ I have is a Barton core CPU.
This runs at 2.083Ghz.
Any ideals on o'c max on it.
The CPU Has a great 6000rpm fan runnin keeping it runnin at 43c.
I have a Side panel fan straight over the processor suckin air out.
And forn and back fans 90mm and also other side has fans running.
It's a pretty cool system runnin jus above 30c abient temp.
