Ok. Say I get the AMD Barton 2500+. How do I overclock it and If I did so, would the retail fan be good enough to cool it?

if you buy a barton 2500+ very likely to be locked. thus only fsb overclocking - which isn;t bad as it yeilds better performance gain than multi overclocking. however you need good ram to go far. stock heatsink prob wouldn't be enough, i would just buy an oem barton 2500 as the warranty goes out the window as soonas you overclock anyway. get a thermalright sink and some AS5.
if you want to get an unlocked chip get a mobile 2500+ make sure your board supports it though.
