I've finally found out why everyone chooses the mobile 2500+ over the normal barton..
But I'm hearing that some motherboards may not work with it or with the ocing to 3200+.

If anyone has experience with any of these following boards or just knows if they work or not, that would be great.

Gigabyte 7NNXP
DFI LanParty NFII Ultra B
MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR

Still trying to figure out exactly which of these 3 boards to choose from.

Thanks in advance.

Cis

If money is not a consideration get the DFI LanParty NFII Ultra B, but if you really want an overclock tolerant and stable board @ a better bargain get ABIT's NF7-S v2.0 to go with that mobile 2500+.

Overclock's a 2500+ easily to 3200+ by just setting your FSB to 400.

Desktop boards do not table AXP-M, therefore, they don't recognize default speed and V-core. Manual setting of FSB and V-core become necessary to run mobile processor in desktop board, otherwise I don't see why they don't work.

Do you have any specifics?

I forget where I read it..
It may be what you mentioned there about the not recognizing the default speed etc.

Actually.. I would almost bet it would be that.

Thanks for the help in this.

Another important part is Mobile AXP will go up to 100C for max Tcase temp versus 85C desktop chip. I know nobody is willing to go this far; but the M chip has higher temp tolorance, neverthless.
