I think i messed this up. i have a amd 2400+ thourobred chip on a a7n8x mb that hangs on me. the bios says my cpu settings are wrong. it is currently set to 1500mz, 15x multiplier, and 200 fsb. when i boot up it shoots me to bios and says that the cpu settings are wrong, however i have very little toime to change bios until it locks up again. What do i do now, any help would be greatly apprieciated.
Thank you

That's right.

Its possible the motherboard cpufsb jumper is set to 200. If so, you want to move it to the 266/333/400 setting. If its already there, then you should clear your cmos. There is a jumper for it right next to the mobo battery. The manual will call it Clear cmos or Bios reset or Clear realtime clock or something like that.

i bought a AMD AthlonXP 2400 Tbrd 2.0Ghz 266 and when i put my new computer together it came up as a AMD AthlonXP 1800 15.Ghz. at first i thought the supplier had tried giving me a different CPU. i did change the CPU setting in the bBIOS and got the it corrected, and after reading other peoples problem with the same CPU i am stating to think this is the right CPU but i want to make sure. coyuld someone give me some advice on this please, is it a AMD AthlonXP 2400 Tbrd 2.0Ghz and does the BIOS need altering or is this the wrong CPU?

Be very gratefull if someone could guide me in the right driection with this.
