XP 1.0Ghz? There is no such animal...either you have a 1.0Ghz Athlon T-bird, or you have an Athlon XP 1500+, but it's running at 100FSB instead of 133FSB.

If your temp reading is accurate, it's running too hot. Try getting it up to temp, then shutdown & carefully touch the heatsink to see how warm it really is. 70C (158F) is pretty hot! If it only feels warm, your temp reading is off.

Are you having any stability problems? blue screens? lockups? random reboots?

Are you sure your HSF was installed properly? Was thermal paste used? Hopefully not too much or too little. What about case cooling?

That heatsink must not be making good contact with the processor. I once used a thermal pad I pulled off an old pentium (looked like a Yugo floor mat) and couldn't reach 70°C on a 1.4Gig Athlon. I'd have a look at the AMD install videos and try the operation again.

GA-7ZXR? Can't find that board on GigaByte's site. Is it a ZXE board? They have a jumper to select 100/133 fsb. Or, is there another reason your board won't run 133Mhz?

What revision do you have? According to the Giga-Byte website, if you have Rev.2.X, it doesn't support 133FSB CPUs...if you have Rev.3.X, it supports some 133 FSB CPUs, but not all. It looks like it Rev.3.X supports the Atlon T-bird & the Palomino...but not the T-bred or Barton (I'm kinda guessing about that based on the .13u & .18u in the listings)

Looks like the bios update is the same for all 5 of the ZXR boards.
