What are the numbers that come after AM1200-??

You *may* be able to upgrade to an X2 but be aware that if you don't run programs that take advantage of it, your system may actually run slower. Which CPU do you have in mind? Also, how much RAM do you have & what speed does it run at? A lot of OEMs like to slap in DDR2-533 or DDR2-667 when it really should be DDR2-800.

Its an ACER AM-1200, I believe its an E1520-B
I upgraded memory to 4 GB but it sometimes lags when doing
some multiple tasks.....I have the Standard HD in there...and a
secondary 160 GB also.
It might be the vdeo card..I don't soon as I learn
something compu-tech, its all changed ..LOL..I can't keep up..
I am thinking of using the AMD Athlon X2 5050e..but have to
check out the specs on the AMD website..

Contact Acer. They have the documents of what types of cpu's will support that pc. We can't really tell you, because Acer gives no documents on their site which cpu your pc can support up to.
