Overall is it worth overclocking GPU and CPUs? I dont know much about this, i heard that there are some catches? Most of you seem to have done it already.

Say gasoline was almost free like computer electricity is. You're on an open road going 55mph because your car manufacturer affixed the accelerator pedal in that position. What do you do?

Most people sit back and enjoy the ride and do not give it a thought. Overclockers are not like that and they come in two forms - the razor's edge driver who tunes his engine constantly and checks his tires and stays alert and goes at the very fastest speed he can and takes on risk in doing so, and the opportunistic driver who says hey if this road is open and this car will go 70mph with no change in safety or wear and tear, then I'll go 70. Easy decision.

In overclocking there are a lot of catches as you say but not for second guy. We need more posts on the order of "what is a risk-free easy quick overclock for my machine?" It does vary a lot.

In an earlier post I recommended that people get their first oc experience with a Ti4200 because it is the perfect example of the risk-free easy quick overclock.
