Comment: After some experimenting with overclocking by changing the jumpers only, windows xp wont startup normally. But when i start it up in safemode, no problem! :/ hmmm,.. It's all about a P2 Celeron 350mhz comp i own. I thought id play a little with the jumpers and decided to change the FSB jumpers from 100mhz to 112mhz. (multiplier jumpers i didnt touch) So after a reset all working fine, but the i got a little jumpy because i didnt apply any extra cooling whatsoever and i jumped the jumpers in their original state to get the standard 100mhz FSB. And im sure i got it right since i still had the MB's manual. Turned the comp on and then the comp froze in the windows loading screen! :S If i startup in safemode it just does its thing and starts up no problem there. But why wont it start up in "normal mode"? Idea's? Greatly appreciated, thanks.

Reply: (edit)When you say "reset", do you mean you pulled the battery out, then reinstalled, and booted up? Just curious. YO

Reply: (edit)If it boots up in safemode and not in normal mode, then it is a software issue. Go into msconfig and disable all startup iems and also unload your display driver and reboot normally. ‹•¿•›.......Do not type anything in this space.......‹•¿•›

Reply: (edit)Well, after unchecking the "load start up items" and unchecking the "nvidia display drivers" in the services tab i still got the same problem. I noticed though that when i review these settings in msconfig after unchecking them and restarting the zonealarm client is still checked, for some reason it doesnt want to be unchecked in the startup items tab. So ill uninstall that, and if the problem still occurs ill guess ill just have to format and reinstall XP all together. To bad but i think thats my last option...
