I have a very early version, and I really want to update it, and get more memory. But I do not know much about this kind of stuff. HELP. What kind of ram and CPU should I upgrade to?

I hope I put all my computer info in here, it is all that I could find.

We need more info to help you.

How much are you willing to spend.
Are you going to replace just ram and cpu? If so you will most likley need a new motherboard and may even need a new power supply.
Do you plan on playing games with your new setup? If so you may need a new graphics card. What kind of games will you be playing if any?

Get your hands on your board's manual, you may be able to squeeze a little more out of your AMD-K6 500MHz 3D Processor, by tinkering with the jumpers on the board.

With regards to upgrades you are better off, building a new rig altogether.

CPU-wise, there's no point in upgrading...550mhz was as high as the K6-2 went, & the K6-3, although it was a great CPU, is too expensive to recommend.

PC100 RAM has gotta way too expensive as well, unless you buy it used, & you'll have to be certain you're getting the right stuff or it won't work.

Due to density issues, there's no guarantee that PC133 will work. To ensure compatibility, make sure you get low density RAM
