I have an Acer 4730z Laptop that has an INTEL T3400 2.16 Pentium 4 Dual Core CPU (as best I can tell its a Socket P / 478), I would like to upgrade to another dual core processor that support Virtualization in Windows 7. Can I upgrade to a Core 2 Duo? If so what model(s), any information on this will helpful.

Upgrading a laptop CPU rarely makes sense and is often impossible. Laptops are engineered products, with limited clearance and few exchangeable parts. Even if the CPU is socketed rather than surface mounted (soldered to the motherboard) there will be a very limited range of choices for upgrades, if any at all are available.
I would advise against this.
