I've got the NF7-S 2.0 with a mobile 2600+ clocked @ 2.5Ghz, coupled with a thermalright SLK heatsink but my fan is NOT! quiet....;~(.

What are you upgrading from?

That board has a great reputation. What are your plans for it? What HSF do you have now?

The benefits of the mobile are an unlocked multiplier & a low default voltage.

Your PC2100 RAM would have hampered your O/c'ing. Even with better RAM, I don't know how much you'd get outta the 2400+ because of the high multiplier (15x)...certainly not 200mhz/400FSB...possibly 166mhz/333FSB though.

If noise doesnt bug you go with an slk900u and a tornado, thats what i am using and my temps are really low all the time, even running prime95 torture, i am using geil pc3500 that has the bh-5 chips. you can also get a fan control.

I am using geil, just get a good brand. i would also check the overclockers forum , there threads just about the nf7-s board. Also check into doing the L12 mod before you install the cpu. plus a moded bois.

thanks again, if i wanted to get it at 200*10 would i still have to do the l12 mod?and would good pc3200 be enough?(512 0r 1gb). sorry for so many questions but i respect this sites opinions before anything else on the net period.

All you need is some PC3200 ram, no need for the L12 mod when overclocking to a 3200+ speed (200x11) on the NF7-S 2.0. If you can afford a gig of ram go for it but 512 ought to be plenty enough for you.

Thanks again, I see they make a 3000+ with fsb @400, if i got that (142 at newegg) would i still need to upgrade the heatsink? I think it would be a wash with two options then. I might just go for the 3000+, thanks again
