Im currently thinking about upgrading my system:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0
AMD XP2200 233
1gig 512mb x 2(dual channel) corsair sel val
XFX6800GT 256gddr3To
Xp 3000 400fsb
2gigs 1g x 2(dual channel)And I was wondering from other ppl who still own a a7n8x deluxe 2.0(or at least know the mobo itself real well) what 2gig of 2 x 1gb dual channel ram I should get that is compatible with the board. My friend said I couldnt do it period and I dont belive him at all cause he thinks he knows everything. Thanx ppl

You already have 1GB of RAM in dual channel...there's little advantage to running dual channel on a socket A system anway because of the FSB limitation of the CPU. Hopefully you have PC3200 (DDR400). And if you're currently running your CPU at 133MHz (266FSB) & the RAM at another, your system is not optimally configured. The RAM & CPU should always run at the same bus speed on a socket A system. Change the BIOS setting for the RAM from AUTO to 100%, & leave it that way.
Adding another 1GB of RAM will gain you nothing...all it will do is put a hole in your wallet.
The 6800GT is way too much card for your system as it sits. Do yourself a favor & get an Athlon XP 2500+ mobile CPU & overclock it to about 2.5Ghz. Newegg.com has them for $85. Check the customer reviews...some report overclocking as high as 2.7GHz. You have the perfect board to pull it off:

ASUS A7N8X-X
Athlon XP 1800+
8.5 x 200MHz
1024MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP1

Does the A7N8X Deluxe support 1gb x 1gb dual channel? This is upgrade is for battlefield 2 fyi.
