I tried to run 3DMark05 last night and got the message on startup:
Your hardware does not support the features required to run 3Dmark05. Pixel Shader 2.0 (or higher) is one of these.
I understood that the RADEON 9800 pro DOES support Pixel Shader 2.0. I installed the card using the drivers on the install disc. Is this a driver issue?

Try omega drivers, also install DX9c and run 3Dmark05 again.

Thanks Sabertooth and OtheHill!
I had DX9c but the drivers I was using came from the ATI CD that came with the card. I was getting ready to install the latest drivers from the ATI website when I got a Microsoft update for this card that resolved this issue.

You may want to go to ATI.com and download the latest drivers from there. Should help performance even more.

Yeah I don't care for Windows update drivers, they have had a known passed of releasing out dated drivers or even wrong drivers. I once installed an audio driver update from microsoft windows update and it said it was my version so when i went to install it, it was the WRONG version! Ever since then I always go to the site that makes my hardware.

3DMark05 wouldn't run with the latest ATI drivers so I went back the setup from Windows update.
