Ok well.. for the past few days my computer has been shutting itself off at random. Around a month or so ago, I had half of my program files deleted, Starting exactly with internet explorer.. Strangely all the program files returned except Internet Explorer.. well I had tried to install IE over and over, with no luck.. Then recently, about say a week or two ago, I tried again and got IE to finally install.. now I'm having trouble with my computer randomly shutting off.. I checked my CPU Temp and it said 86C when I started the thing up. I keep my computer running 24/7 pretty much.. and I don't know if it's the fans, if it's because I'm keeping my computer on all night and day, or what it is. I need help though, I have no money to afford a new Power Supply, a new Fan, or any sort of new cooling unit.. Is there anything I can possibly do to fix this? Oh and when my computer resets itself, when it returns it says 'Windows has recovered from a serious error' I check the files involved in this error, and it's some sysdata.xml file along with some other file, in my Documents and Settings --> User --> Local Settings --> Temp folder.. So I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I Know for a fact that 86C is way too high for a CPU to be running.. so I'm not sure. Thanks in advance to anyone who can possibly help me..
That's prob the problem your cpu temp. What I would suggest is that you clean out the whole inside of your system. Anything that has dust on it clean it off.
If you want to take it a step further go take off your heatsink clean off the old theraml pasting on both the cpu and heatsink and buy some new thermal cpu paste and apply a thin layer across the cpu.
In addition to the suggestions in #2 You MAY be able to move your Harddrive to get more air circulation. Check to verify ALL fans are working, there is a fan in the PSU too.
Well, it seems that the high temp isn't anything to do with the problem. I did some research and it seems the problem with restarting wasn't the CPU temp or faulty hardware at all. It was a new web cam's software conflicting with my on-board sound.. While I still think I need to get the temp down, I'm pretty sure I've fixed the problem for now. Thanks for all the suggestions and help guys.
