Hi. I am going to purchase an MSI 6800LE Card. I really want to open up the closed pixel pipelines and shaders i hear people talking about.

Can you explain what people mean when they say somthing like 16x1, 6 VP?

What are the risks involved in opening up these pipelines, will it impair the life of the video card?

By the way i dont intend overclocking this baby, i only want to open that stuff up!

There is no risk, only risk is being unsatisfied with the results, the 16x1 and 6x1 vp refers to the pipelines and vertex shader pipelines. It will not impair the card any, it will just make it run hotter then it was intending for. Just download river tuner and follow the dir. I hear more people are having better succes with the standard 6800.

I have my 9800 se unlocked and running higher then xt speeds but get the terrible red cheacker-board affect(imperfect pipelines) on almost all games like Doom 3, FARCry, call of duty, NFS underground, but do not get any at all on Half-life 2 and CSS. So I just swapp back and forth depending on what game i wanna play.
