Man there is really no excuse for anyone not to build a 64bit system now. Newegg is selling brand new 64bit Sempron processors for 64 bucks starting with the 2600+. When 64 bit processors are selling this cheap you know it's just a matter of time when you see no more 32bit processors for sale.

Sempron 64's are actually 32-bit CPUs. AMD added the "64" to show that they're based on the Athlon 64 & to set them apart from the other Sempron which is based on the Athlon XP.

Well i don't agree with that. I mean that can confuse people into thinking Semprons are really 64bit if the avg pc user doesn't read the fine print.

That's what I thought because on newegg they show you if it supports 64bit technology and it says "yes" on the side of each Sempron 64 processor.

it is 754 Socket, which is becoming out of date.
