is 62C too hot for 2000+? i live in a house with no A/C and the temps are in the 102-112 degree F range outside daily. my 1600+ just died on me so i bought a 2000+. i am in germany. i have a volcano 11+ cpu cooler on it. just would like to hear some opinions on this. my 1600+ ran at 49 idle and 55-58 under load. 2000+ is running at around 60-62 idle and 67-68 under load. is that about right?

That's awfully warm, but then again, so is your ambient temp...are you sure your temps are accurate? What about case fans...how many & how are they arranged? You could try cooling software like CpuIdle or Vcool...that should help some.....

If you have a board with VIA chipset, I recommend Vcool...my AOpen mobo (VIA KT133A chipset) with XP1800+ (T-bred) idles in the low 30's...& my Asus mobo (also KT133A) with Athlon 1.33 (T-bird) idles in the high 30's to low 40's.

i have a case fan in front a side fan pci fan and a drive bay fan with two 80mm fans. temps are accurate as i can tell. i used the bios to id temps and the program speed fan.

thanks for the advice, jam. i could not get the Vcool to work but CPUidle dropped my idle temps about 5 degrees celcius. and i have turned down the speed of the fan so comp is much quieter. again thanks

At those ambient temps, your cpu temps are normal
