45 degrees to hot?

CPU/Ram: c 1.7ghz/512mg ram

Hi i just build a new computer and would like to know how hot the cpu should be for this type of specifactions? At the moment it is at 45 degrees?

Ps does anybody know any software that i can use to tweak my processor to get the most out of it?

If that C in your CPU/RAM section is for a Celeron then 45ºC is fine. The max core temp. for one of those CPU's is 80ºC I think.

Rule of thumb for dummies ...

If you can't hold your finger on it, it's too hot.

But don't get your pinkie get caught in the fan.
