Hi All..
I'm new here and i need to ask you something.
I have Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego.
and i want to upgrade my CPU.
TheBest CPU i can put on my motherboard (socket 939) are :
1. Athlon 64x2 4800+(E6,Toledo,90nm,1MBx2)
2. Athlon 64 FX60(E6,Toledo,90nm,2MB)
3. Opteron x2 175(2.2GHz,1MB)
4. Opteron 185(Dual,2.6GHz,2MB)

Now. I'm using this computer for alot of things. for example:
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver
Few Windows Multitasking and internet and so..
sometimes i play games... but not much.

I want to be able to have a fast CPU that will work on windows a lot faster then mt 3700+.

If i will have an Opteron i will probably Overclock it, Not much but will overclock it a little bit :)

Can you please tell me what CPU should i get?
please notice that the price (Ebay rates) is important too.
I want a full reward to my investment.

Thanks you all! for your help!

You didn't list which board & RAM you have but why don't you just overclock the 3700+? You should be able to get it up to 2.75GHz with the right board.

As for the other CPUs you mentioned, would you have to pay for them or do you already have them? If you have to buy a CPU, you might wanna consider upgrading the CPU/board/RAM. The X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz Black Edition is only $60, Corsair 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2-800 is only $20, & a decent board based on the 780G or 770 chipset is about $60-75.

Yeah I agree with Jam the X2's and the Opterons X2's on the s939 are not even worth getting because the price for them now no way justifies their performance. I mean you could be spending upwards of $450 on an s939 X2 4800+ when there are processors half that price that will blow it out of the water now in performance.
