Howdy peeps,

Posted a few days ago bout OC my Prescott and got a helpful reply (courtesy of TMP-Man) saying i should download 'Clockgen' and try that out.

With it being a HP comp i think the BIOS is locked for OC so this looks like the only way to go...

Instructions were to "Download 'clockgen' and then choose your ICS to be 'ICS 954119' from PLL Setup." but i cant find the right ICS in the PLL Setup drop downlist. Do i need to download something else or am i doing something wrong???

Any help would be great, cheers.

Buzz

Your board isn't on the list. Where are you coming up with ICS 954119? The instructions say:

"If your mainboard does not appear in the list or if you can't open your system, you can try to guess the clock generator family with the chipset. Most PLL models are dedicated to a chipset, and knowing the chipset may help to figure out the PLL model family, especially on ICS chips. On ICS chips with a 6 figures name, the model consists in the 4 first figures. For example, the ICS 954148 belongs to the 9541XX family."

"The only 100% reliable way to know what PLL model is used on your system is to look for it on the mainboard and notice the chip reference."

Here's a link to your board specs:

Cheers for the reply,

Sorry i got the ICS 954119 from P4 mainboard list at the bottom of the clockgen page at cpuid

http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php#about

Im pretty sure my motherboard is almost identical to the ASUS P5GD1 Mobo (minus 2 PCI slots), so i thought that it would use the same ICS...im probably wrong????

Ive had a look at the Mobo for the chip but i havent found anything with ICS and a code written on it?

If you cannot find any, try this

P5AD2-E
P5GD2
P5GDC

ICS 954123 similar to ICS 954xxx

It's similar to PTGD1, both have GD as initials. But that clockgen program is like every time you start your computer, you have to reload it again since it doesn't have an auto-start option... So try that out...

Actually not really, since some motherboard use AGP and some use PCI-E, and you need to at least choose the right chipset for your motherboard. In your case is ICS9541xx for Intel 955 chipset... Try out ICS954123...

Looking in the specs for my mobo it says it has the Intel 915P/G Chipset. This isnt shown anywhere on the Clockgen site.....maybe its just totally not supported yet???

with clockgen is it possible to lock clocks of things like the pci slots and the agp slot? or do all the clocks have to be tied together?
