Comment: Ok, this will be my third box so I am not too new but like everyone, can stand to learn alot. I am planning to use an AMD 2600 with the fsb of 333. I am also trying to decide between a Chaintech 7vjl Summit and an Abit Kd7-E. I don't need onboard sound. Which is better between the two and would it be at all noticable if I used onboard LAN? I also want to know what the best heatsink/fan for this processor is. I don't plan to overclock this one (yet..., just wait until I get board). I am also looking for an audio card with an external volume control, no remote. I know the Audigy platinums have a knob but do those only control the headphone volume or is it a master volume? For the last question, what is a good temperature for that chip to run? I also have another AMD that is running at 1.2g, and never know how hot that one should get. What is a general rule for AMD temps? Ok, thanks everyone, I can't wait to hear what you all have to say.

Reply: (edit)Abit MB is better. Thermaltake VOLCANO 11(Xaser Edition) ROCKS!!! But volcano 9 is also great. You can go with generic AMD cooler as well. Max. AMD die temp is 90C but you should be cautious if it's more than 60C. Have fun.

Reply: (edit)Actually the die temp for the T-breds (2600+) is 85C but yeah be cautious over 60C. I wish one of the many dealers around me in Ottawa had the Volcano 11.. not yet..
