The XP 3200+ is supposed to run at 2.2GHz/400MHz FSB with clock settings of 11 x 200MHz. You're currently running it at 200MHz FSB with clock settings of 11 x 100MHz.

If it's running hot (which it is), it's most likely because the heatsink/fan is either dust clogged or was improperly installed. The most common mistakes are using the wrong amount of thermal paste or installing the heatsink backwards. Double check that you've installed it correctly. Here's what to look for:

Well i set the fsb to 200mhz and left everything else at default and it wont post.
right now i have it set to 190 with an 12x multiplier and it gets me 2.28ghz. i still need to work on the heat issue i have some thermal paste on the way..

But i was also wondering y i don't recognize it as an 3200+ and automatically run at 2.2?

I'm wondering how you are able to change the multiplier to 12x? Did you confirm that it actually changed?

When's the last time you updated the BIOS?
