Hi I don't know what these 3 short beeps mean when I boot this machine. The MB is a GA-6VTXE . I have googled but haven't found something that matches.

Very possibly it's bad RAM. Had the system been working OK? Have you made any changes? Try unplugging any USB devices.
"3 short: Base 64K RAM failure
There was a problem with accessing the first 64Kb of memory. Swap out each memory stick to try and see if you can bypass the problem. Try swapping between various slots too. This error occurs if the motherboard is also failing so if none of your RAM works then the motherboard might be at fault.http://www.neoseeker.com/Hardware/f...

I have nothing else plugged in. I got this machine from someone and they suspected there was a ram issue.
OK well I have tried different sd ram sticks in different slots and cleaned the ram to make sure but now I am getting a different set of beeps. 1 short, 8 long, 2 short(I think) and then 1 short. It was hard to get it right. I think I might just use the case. Really that is why I go it so I could put a different MB in there."The meaning of life is to be happy and useful" Tenzin Gyatso the 14th Dalai Lama

Just thought I'd finish this post by saying that it was one of those projects I had to give up on. Thanks for all the above help!
