Hey guys, I am interested in overclocking, and have looked at overclockers.com and found that the average overclocked speed of the AMD Athlon XP 2500+ was 2.316 GHz while the average OC'ed speed on the 2800+ was only a tad better at 2.351 GHz (while the cost of the 2800+ is $40 more expensive) My question is, since the 2500+ and the 2800+ are built on the same core (Barton), and the clock speed is relatively equal (both at about 2.3 GHz), are these essentially equally performing chips?
I have a 2500 barton at 333mhz. I have it running at.... 14x @2.319mhz instead of 11x @1833mhz. Just had to add extra fan to keep cool, in Georgia spring and summer now. But it runs NICELY. No screw ups.
I guess you have posted before by above remarks. Just go and buy a 2500. Save your $40 bucks.

Summary: 2500+, and 3200+ are mfg from the same die, on the same wafer. 3200+ is about the maximum speed for this chip generation. Because of this the 2500+ can reach 3200+ speeds, but the 3200+ are already ne...
