I have heard that you can up the FSB on a 2500+ Barton to 400 MHz with leaving the multiplier alone. Anyways I am either going to get a 2500+ Barton or a 2600+ Barton. What I am onedering is that will the 2600+ Barton also run stable with the 400 MHz FSB?

If we are talking about both chips with Barton core, the 2500+ is a better OCer because it has lower locked multi at 11x. If you can find one with unlocked multi, it's even better. These Bartons are basically the same chips with different locked multis. Depending on other components in your set up, you may or may not get stable 2600+ OCed to FSB 400. But 2500+ certainly can. So go with 2500+.

Thanks TXH, jam, and johnoh!!!
I got a 2500+ Barton of off ebay last night for 76.94 with shipping. Is this a good deal? I don't know if it was before week 29 or not, but if it wasn't is there a way to unlock the multi?
Thanks again!

As of yet, no one has come up with a method to unlock the Barton

I skimmed thru the article quickly, but I'd bet they started with a Barton that was already factory unlocked...all they're doing is unlocking the multipliers below 13.0x using the "wire method"

I just found out this board dosn't suport voltage change. Do you have to increes the voltage on the 2500+ Barton to get it to the 400 MHz FSB?
