Hi Guys!

I have a Gigabyte GA-7n400 pro2 mobo and i just can't get my mobile to run at 11*200 fsb. As a matter of fact I cant get it to recognize the cpu at any 200 fsb setting. I've read that people say you should boost your core voltage but i can't do it on this mobo and if it's possible i dont know how.

I just want my pc to be able to run @ at least 3200 @ 200 fsb.

Can anyone please help me? It would be greatly appreciated and apologies if this has been mentioned previously, I must be to stoopid to figure it out.

The BIOS setting are not intuitive. The easiset thing is if there are examples in the manual. I don't have any experience with your board, but in general you will find that settings that seem to just give info have another layer. highlight the setting and hit enter or maybe PGup/dn. Look for settings like CPU interface. This setting may say optimal. Change to aggressive or expert, etc. DDR: CPU ratio is another one. Don't try setting the voltages to anything but default unless necessary. The last 2500 mobile I set up has been running at 11 x 200 for 4 months with default voltages and auto settings on RAM. Be sure to stay in the BIOS and monitor the temps for a bit to be sure things ore OK.

Not all XP-M 2500+ CPUs will overclock to 3200+ at the default voltage. If your board doesn't provide vcore adjustment, you'll either have to resort to a wire mod, or just leave it be.

One thing that has been mentioned many times is that to get the most out of an XP-M on a desktop machine, the board MUST support ALL the overclocking options. That means FSB, multiplier, vcore, vdimm, RAM timings, etc

jam, if you are familiar with the BIOS for this board I believe the poster simply doesn' know how to change the settings in the BIOS. I don't think it is an issue of wheather or not the chip is capable at this time.

No, I'm not familiar with it...I may have looked at the manual before, but don't recall if there's a vcore setting or not. If you're saying there is, then he should have no problem running at 200MHz, provided he adds a little juice to the CPU
