i have had this system for over 3 yrs now and just bought a gig of 3200 to overclock the 2500 a wee bit more than i could with 2700. did as people said set clock@11 set fsb@200 raised vcore to 1.7. ran good for 1 day then started rebooting and causing my hard drive to act up(kept clicking and wouldnt boot)-(stopped doing this after i put in my old 2700) anyone else have the same mobo as me and runs this chip still have any suggestions

What brand of ram ?
BTW, are you able to ramp up the Vcore a tad more to 1.75v ?
Try that and see if that helps.
I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

ya it goes all the way up to 1.8 but i read that most can run 200fsb at stock vcore settings(1.6-1.7) . just wondering how many people out there still run oc'd 2500's and what their settings and system's are. my mobo says it only handles 333fsb cpu's but it can use ddr400. doesnt realy make sense. i have the latest bios also.

No two systems overclock the same, even when completely identical in configuration. Did you raise the Vcore yet ?
"my mobo says it only handles 333fsb cpu's but it can use ddr400. doesnt realy make sense."This is not unusual and am not sure why it doesn't make sense to you, for example I owned the 2500+ a while back. It was paired with the NF7-S revision v2.0 (ABIT), it had all of the features of the prior revision v1.2 but the Barton 400 MHz FSB support was added.
The CPU is faster than RAM memory and usually it has to wait for the RAM memory to deliver data...see the link below

ok i ran the vcore at 1.7 only and that was it, once it started mesing with my hd i backed off and put my 333 back in till i can read up on stuff a bit more.i have a cheap 350 watt psu and was thinking maybe that was the case. i have a dual dvd burner setup (2 dvd burners) an ati 9600XT a pci capture card a 160 gig hd(wd) and a pci ethernet card.I also replaced my stock barton heatsink and fan with a TT volcano 9+ but its on the lowest fan setting. so maybe thats a bit too much for that lil 350 and thats what made my hd start acting up.... i dunno . im gonna pick up a 450 psu this weekend and try the ddr400 some more.
