Right, I'm about to venture into overclocking, I'm not the most technical minded of computer users, but I certainly know my fair share, I just want to know what I can get out of this -
Athlon 2400+ (cooled by Coolermaster HHC-L61 Heatpipe heatsink (45degC idle, 52DegC load))
Asus A7V8X mobo
1Gb DDR 2700 (333) with Thermaltake Active Memory cooling kit
(just the basics)
All housed in a Thermaltake Xaser 2 case (2 rear fans, 2 front fans + side fan)Basically, I know that heatsink/fan can't do much for an overclock, even though I just wanna step up about 200+- Mhz, so what I found lying around was a 60-80mm fan adapter and a 45cfm 80mm fan.
See where I'm going?
Basically, the fan I'm using on the heatsink is only 15cfm, the one on the higher model (HHC-001) is 32CFM, and runs 38degC idle and about 43degC load
So, should I be able to overclock my 2400+ to at least 2600+ speeds using that Heatsink with a 60-80mm fan adapter and a 45cfm fan stable?
Maybe pushing 2800+?
And (the all important question) How would I go about doing it?

The higher you can set your FSB, the faster you system will perform...it's not as much about the CPU speed these days as it is about FSB speed. Take a 2.0Ghz CPU as an example...
20 x 100 FSB
15 x 133 FSB
12 x 166 FSB
10 x 200 FSBAll the above settings will give you 2.0Ghz, but the last one (200 FSB) will give you the fastest system overall. You should try to determine your max stable FSB setting by setting your multiplier fairly low, say 10x, then start increasing your FSB a little at a time...if you get up to say, 190mhz & your system's stable, but you have probs at 192, 190mhz is your FSB limit. Then you can start raising the multiplier & see how high you can go with the CPU speed. Try clocking it up with the stock voltage setting at 1st...once you've hit your limit, you try try adding a little more voltage to see if that helps you to clock up even higher. Keep a close eye on your temps...
