The xbox 360 jasper model have finally came out recently and unlike the falcon or the first gen zephyer models, there really isn't any way of telling if you are buying a jasper model, because there isn't any ID tag markings on the back of the box that displays the model. But there is one big diff you can see from the box and that is the jasper models comes with 256mb internal memory chips up from the 16mb internal chips in the falcon model and the first gen Zephyr model. Which means there will be no memory card included on the Arcade Xbox 360 versions anymore. So that's one way of finding out if it's a new jasper model, at least on the Arcade Xbox 360 models anyway.
What also has changed is the power supply and motherboard power connection socket. Since now both the GPU and CPU use 65nm technology, the power uses 25w less then older falcon and zephyer models. What all is this means is less energy a lot less heat and a lot less likely now of getting the Red Ring of Death.
So if you are looking for an Xbox 360 this holiday season make sure you get the new Jasper models. The only real way of seeing if you are buying a jasper model on versions other then the Arcade versions, is to open up the box and see what the power consumption is on the back sticker, if it's 150w then it's a jasper model or if the manufacture date was aug 2008 or later, but I doubt anyone working in retail would allow you to do that. Next best thing is to wait a couple of months, by then all retail stores should be carrying the Jasper models on all Xbox versions in full force.
If it's broke, then blow that sucka up!
