So i have done alot of research, basically i have movies on the pc in .avi format, mostly all of them are. I am trying to watch them on my xbox360 thru my network. When you go into the media center xbox360 and look at the shared folder on the pc, does not see them. Thus because it does not play .avi extensions. My question, has anyone found a way to watch .avi on the 360 yet, or what is the best program to convert the .avi to the xbox360 format. I have tried a few programs but have been unsuccessful with either loading the .avi into the program or the conversion process.

There has been a upgrade in the last month or more that gave the ability for the 360 to play more file types like avi.
I just have my "My Videos" folder to be a searched folder in Windows Media player and then I can just goto Videos in the 360 and play the file from my pc, works great and I don't need media center.
