In your opinion what console do you prefer more over and why, the PS3, Wii or Xbox 360?
I like the PS3 the most due to its built in Blu-Ray and it's free online gaming. I have played with all three consoles and even though I enjoy playing the Wii and Xbox 360, the PS3 has pretty much everything that suits my needs. All the PS3 now needs is more gaming titles. I applaud Microsoft though for coming out with the Xbox system and giving the PS3 and the Wii competition. The more competition the better it is for us consumers.
Personally? The Wii, even though there's no third party support worth mentioning. (I'm not sure if, stuck in their next-gen mindset, the developers "get" the Wii.) The price is right, however, and the user demand is there.
Then again, I play PC games. When I go to my console, I'm looking for something different. I just keep trying to plug my keyboard and mouse into the 360. As for the PS3, well, it's either $200 or $300 more than I'm willing to spend on a console system.
Besides, I refuse to buy Blu-Ray or HD-DVD until everyone picks a side and sticks with it, and they remove the heavy-handed DRM; I'm a paying customer, not a thief.
Yes, I've spent more than $300 on my PC, but I can use it to pay the bills. That's something I have yet to see my PS2 do.
Also, you're trying much too hard to get this forum to work.

I got the PS3 a month after it first came out, but there have not been any huge games for it though. GTA IV is going to be a killer app, but it has been delayed until next year!! But they say they dont want to rush the game out in time for the holiday season, which I find to be a very good business decision (remeber ET, which destroyed the gaming inderusty because it was rushed out for the holidays). Of corse, thats just because of the deleys, and it is convient to have a Blu-Ray player. I put Linux on it to, so its a supercomputer as well. But I have decided I am buying an Xbox 360 by christmas time (just for Halo 3), really the only thing that I see special in the Xbox 360 is Xbox Live. If there were no Xbox Live, I would not think about buying a 360.
Xbox 360. Simply because HD-DVD will be/is the way to go.

seems that all big titles will be jumping from ps3 to 360 (if not already)
MSG 4, gta, etc.
Im thinking about the only big game the ps3 has that the 360 doesn't is resistance.
But yeah if you want different the wii is definitely that. I just wish they would make more action adventure games for it and less of the party game, brain, fitness stuff.
old post now, but meh. PS3 for me, I prefer Blu-Ray far more than HD-DVD. The Wii is good but sometimes you just want to play video games 'the good old fashioned way'
Although, I wont buy a PS3, a Wii or a 360. I will always play games on PC. The only console games I play are on my Sega Mega Drive 2 heh. My family won a Game Cube not long after they first came out, it was out of its box for a few months, but has stayed in there for over a year now. heh, Consoles are a bit of a waste of money for my family.

I like the ps3 and the wii for their hardware/software/features way over the 360. I'm saying this because i played a 360 and it looked just like dx 9 because it is(yay microsoft), and i was also dissapointed with the sustained fps of the 360's gpu. The only thing that caught my interest was the large amount of network games on xbox live. I was really impressed with the wii because of the ibm powerpc cpu(880mhz i think, which is really good for a ibm mpc), the texture shading, polys per second of the ati gpu and it's neat user interface(wiimote). The only thing i'm dissapointed with on the wii is that the dac can only go up to 480p on component with the default firmware, but i think you could force it go up to 1080i safely without losing much fps, and that it has a 108.11b instead of 108.11g wlan for better wlan range. I was also impressed with the ps3 for it's multi-component/processer cell chip, and it's nvidia gpu. Once i hooked it up to my mitsubishi 1080p lcd, i was astounded with it's performance(needs a better coolling fan gets hot to the touch on outside in about 3-4 hours). I also like how sony redid the classic ps controller by adding native bluetooth, accelerometers(sixaxis), and keeping the original playstation shape buttons. Also the blueray/dvd-rom hybrid drive, the internal harddrive, and 108.11g wlan are good additions. Really the only thing i can complain about is the cooling system(i fixed this with an external cooling fan). Overall, the wii and ps3 are the best consoles out there, and if possible get both.
I've always had a sort of fondness for nintendo. The wii is the most fun. And, while I do enjoy exceptional graphics from time to time, I prefer the awesome creativity of nintendo. It seems to me that PS3 (and PS2) and xbox games are always the same or similar to each other, but nintendo has a WIDE range of games and gameplay innovations. If I could pick a second favorite, XBOX 360 all the way. For one, halo, for two, the controller, and for three, it's just awesome. The PS3 is too expensive, overlarge, and just not worth it.
hmmm... xbox360 wii and ps3. a hard choice indeed. i personaly love the good old fashoned pc pimped out style lol. i also have a great fondnes of the ps3 purly because of the power! but i do have a bit of a let down because of the lack of the gaming titles. i also much like for the wii because of the playabilty and the interactivity. its asawme:). but ther is a majore problem i have with it, the midend grafics and none hd display but then agen its not always about the resilution:). and finaly for the xbox360...well...i just plain dont like it, its just a ps3 wanabee.
ps
sorry for the bad spelling im still working on getting a dictionary lol.
The people who say wii is dumb are the ones who live in their mom's basement and give you creepy shivers every time you encounter them in the store. That doesn't count those who like PS3 and 360 over wii, just the ones who think it's dumb. Hey, I like all systems and would buy one of each and give them all equal attention if they weren't so darn expensive.
I am going to choose the 360 as my #1 pick. Reasons being: 1)Xbox Live 2)The games 3)Add on support 4)The games 5)doesn't cost 800 bucks.
I do want to get a Wii just because it would be a nice step away from the traditional gaming and it looks quite fun.
I will not get a PS3. For one thing it costs entirely too much. I don't care if it has BluRay or not. What if bluray fails? Then your stuck with a useless player. Another thing is...PS3 just doens't have the lineup of titles like the origianl playstion or ps2 had. The games you get on it you can get on Xbox. They may have free online gaming...but, when will it be coming into play?
All in all, the 360 is top dog in my opinion.

Never much of a fan of big clunky controllers like the X-Box, lost the love for nintendo about 3 generations ago, so PS3 but only if you have a HDTV if not any of the others is the way to go.
