Ive just purchased a ps3 and have connected it to my TV via HDMI and via an optical cable to my 5.1 amp. However, i seem to have lost the sound through the TV. Presumably this is because of the HDMI connection. If i connect the standard AV cables to the ps3 and the TV can i select somewhere for it to output the oudio via that for the times when i dont have my amp switched on.
It all depends upon your TV and how it is set up. Without knowing the make or model of your TV, it's hard to determine what the problem is. My best guess would be to contact your TV's tech support. They can guide you through the process, considering it looks like the problem is due to a setting on your TV that isn't set right or hasn't been set yet.
IT HAPPENS THE SAME TO ME, I HAVE A SAMSUNG TV WITH 780 OF RESOLUTION, I THINK, THAT CAN BE THE PROBLEM, PROBABLY THE PS3 JUST SUPPORT 1080, WOULD SOMEBODY HELP ME?. WHEN THE SOUNDS GOES OFF, I HAVE TO RESET THE GAME TO LISTEN THE SOUND AGAIN
I have a sony bravia 52" 1080p lCD and a Sanyo 1080p projection screen. I have had issues with the sound since I purchased the PS3 last year. I was under the assumption that the A/Vcord on the PS3 was was no good from the factory but after reading these I am not sure. I use my HDMI for the video on my Projection screen but I have to get audio somewhere else. I try to run the A/V cable to my surround sound for audio but it has never worked. Will the PS3 only send a signal out of one source of output?
